Hello, Im producing a new independent talk show and one
of the segments is going to spotlight the swingers
lifestyle. I would like to follow 1-2 couples and 1-2 single
swingers in a day leading up to a party. This will not be showing
any sex, just the lead up to and how they get there. Must feel
comfortable in front of cameras and not shy talking about
personal life.
Any interested parties may feel free to contact me
via email or on my cell for more information and questions.
Sincerely,
Eric Stumpf

We have a very important message to convey to all lifestyle
people. We encourage you to take a few minutes and send the City
of Phoenix a message. The email below is currently being sent all
over the country.
ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLES UNITE
Concerned citizens, our goal is to alert Phoenix's new Mayor,
Phil Gordon, and our City Council, of our concerns regarding the
repression of alternative lifestyles in this City. We feel our
constitutional rights to freedom of expression, privacy, and to
peacefully co-exist, in a society built on differences, have been
violated. Morality should not be dictated by the government!
Help us to spread the word that we are many, we have a vision and
we have a voice.
Please take 5 minutes out of your day to stand up and be counted.
Email letters can be sent automatically at http://www.clubchameleon.com/LetterOfConcern.htm.
You can find form letters or create your own. All email addresses
are provided. (Dave adds in addition to the City Council please
also send to Mayor Phil Gordon at phil.gordon@phoenix.gov)
Send this email to as many as you can. Numbers matter.

A Message To Our Friends And Allies From The Woodhull Freedom
Federation
The Woodhull Freedom Federation has entered the struggle in
Phoenix against that city's repressive and, we believe,
unconstitutional prosecution of gay men's and swingers' private
clubs. We need your help on this important effort.
For five years, an agency of the City of Phoenix has been raiding
and harassing swingers' clubs under a local ordinance that makes
it a crime to 'operate a live sex act business' . Recently, a gay
men's bathhouse was also raided under that ordinance. These
actions fly directly in the face of the U.S. Supreme Court's
ruling, in Lawrence v. Texas, that governments cannot take action
against private sexual expression solely to impose moral views on
its citizens. This ordinance has no legitimate justification.
Moreover, its enforcement has discriminatively targeted sexual
minorities, swingers and GLBT clubs while ignoring businesses
(like adult motels) that obviously fall within the terms of this
ordinance.
This will not be an easy battle. Powerful religious political
extremist groups, notably the Community Defense Counsel, are
behind the Phoenix oppression and will pull out all the stops to
continue what they see as a significant vindication of their
anti-sex agenda. However, even though Phoenix is in many ways a
conservative city, polls show public disapproval of these raids
and the local press has thus far been largely on our side.
Phoenix residents are organizing politically to fight this
battle, but they need your help. WFF is helping these activists
as part of our initiative to help local communities organize
around issues of sexual liberty. Please take a moment to write a
letter to the City Council about this important issue. Email
responses can be sent to the appropriate City Council
representative automatically at http://www.clubchameleon.com/LetterOfConcern.htm
Thank you for your help and support.

The Woodhull Freedom Foundation and Federation (WFF) are devoted
to education and public advocacy in support of the proposition
that safe and consensual sexual expression is a fundamental human
right.
Based in Washington, DC, WFF brings together experienced,
successful sexual freedom activists who seek to eliminate the
barriers, governmental and private, to expressions of human
sexuality in the United States and around the world. Helping to
mobilize diverse grassroots communities, WFF utilizes lobbying,
outreach, and education to help change antiquated and unjust sex
laws.

Dave adds:
Victoria Woodhull was the out-spoken, "racy" activist
who introduced sex-positivist values to America during the
Victorian era. She believed that both men and women had a right
to "free love" without government or public
intervention. Throughout the 1870s, she lectured and published,
arguing against society's sexual double standard. Woodhull
advocated sexual satisfaction and love for all, legal
prostitution, the right to multiple partners, and supported
people's abilities to make their own decisions about consensual
sexual activities.
"To those who denounce me, I reply: Yes I am a free lover. I
have an inalienable, constitutional and natural right to love
whom I may, to love as long or as short a period as I can; to
change that love every day if I please." -

Hey, We attended the social in P'cola on the 22nd of Nov. We enjoyed our time spent with you and your other members. We didn't get a chance to meet as many as we would have liked as the smike was so heavy we finally had to leave the bar. I guess the ventilation system wasn't working properly. The music was a little young for our tastes, but then the crowd was a little younger than we were anyway. The DJ didn't appear to have any music I ask for (Motown, early to middle 60's). We are seriously considering becoming full members and look forward to another social. Does P'cola have a party on New Year's Eve? James and Ruthann
Glad you did enjoy what time you spent
with us.
The DJ does have Motown and early to middle 60's music however
with 20,000 titles you'd have to ask for a song by name for them
to find it. There is a link to the music database on the web site
so you can find your request ahead of time. We even include a
link to what we plan to play that weekend on the music page.
Ventilation is something we have complained about to the hotel
management for sometime. Not sure if it's doing any good but when
we meet next week for our 2004 contract you can bet it will be on
the agenda.
The only New Years eve party we will be holding will be at our
Gulfport Ms club.
If you would like to join us there you can make your reservations
on-line at http://www.close-encounters-club.com
Hi Gail and Pee Wee, thx for talking to me last night :)
Please pass the following onto your members...
I'm doing an article on the lifestyle
for Naughty Neighbors magazine and am looking to talk to one or
two more swingers or a couple. I've already talked to several
club owners, so at this point I'm looking for people who are not
affiliated with a club. If you'd like to be interviewed, please
contact me at
.
Thx,
Katy Terrega
Well another one goes by
and surely everyone had a great time. One thing can be said about
Close encounters-- they are family. Everyone that attended
expressed a desire of great fun and excitement to me throughout
the whole weekend. We must applaud PeeWee and Gail for making
everything enjoyable and fun for all. I think that with the
people there this year and the word of mouth getting out next
year will be even greater. All that I can say about it ,is that I
really enjoyed myself and so did the wife and hopefully we can
make next year better than this one was.

PeeWee &
Gail....Bewitched was the best party yet, can't wait for next
year!!!!!We had a fantastic time, and we know how hard you had to
work to make everything run so smoothly, from our great security
and the ones who kept the hospitality rooms going you all know
who you are and so do we....we know alot of you were worn out by
the end of the weekend and we just want each and everyone of you
to know how much we appreciate your time and effort in seeing
that everyone had a great time.
Thank You,

Hi Guys just wanted to say we enjoyed our first time at the Landmark inn and will be back....Chuck&Kat
Gail and Pee Wee; Just wanted to thank you for great time Saturday night. That was our second time and D was alot more relaxed and willing to socialize, met a lot of nice people, look forward to being there in June. G and D Tallahassee
Hi PeeWee,
We had a another great time at the social this past Saturday, and
the third time was the charm for V in the Ms Close Encounters
contest. You and Gail do so much to make these events fun
for everyone that we don't think you get all the credit you
deserve. Just want to let you know that we do appreciate what you
do.
We are already looking forward to next month's social.
See you there,

expenses like utilities and house rent, also expensive music
equipment came up stolen also club money was not paid to the
landlord causing the club to close.
If you come across these two at any other club in the country do
not invest in any business with Les or Monica, Also spread this

Hey there, Ted and I had a chance to check out the new location for the LA Social and we wrote a review of the place. We decided to leave it up to you whether or not you would like for it to be posted somewhere on the web site. We think it should work out fine and look forward to seeing everyone again on the 25th. Hotel review by Ted and Teresa
Ted and I had a chance to check out the new
location for the LA Social. We were not disappointed. It is an
older establishment and not nearly as ritzy as the one on the
beach, but also, not nearly as expensive to get a room either.
The night we stayed it cost us $33.00, which included tax.
Although the rooms are older, they were clean, had plenty of hot
water and everything worked. They also have suites available. The
lounge area is not attached to the rooms, so you do have to walk
across the parking lot to get to it, but thats not really a
problem as its not a long distance and you cant see
anything from the main highway.
The lounge area is smaller than the old one, but offers plenty of
room. They also have pool tables and dart boards for your
enjoyment, as well as a dance floor. Drink prices were pretty
much the average.
There are plenty of eating establishments close to the hotel,
from fast food to sit-down places, so no one should have a
problem finding something they like to eat.
One of the things I noticed was that the night we were there,
there was only about 10 people in the lounge area, which to my
way of thinking is that they are going to LOVE the LA Social
crowd bringing in all that business. Therefore, they should treat
our wonderful host and hostess very well and keep them happy (as
well as everyone else) in hopes of keeping our business coming
in. As hard as it is to find places that will allow/accept our
kind of crowd, I find this to be a good thing.
All in all, we liked the place and when you really think about
it, its not the place we are interested in, its the
people who are there and the reasons they are there.
We look forward to an exciting new year at the LA Social in its
new location.
Teresa and Ted
We met for the first time Saturday night. Aside from my
initial nervousness, we had a wonderful time. Since CE has
no social in December, can you suggest a New Year's Eve
party/dance?
A & D
A & D,
Glad you had a good time.
We will be having a New Years Eve party at our Gulfport club.

Many THANKS to Pee Wee and Gail for putting together Bewitched on the Coast. All their behind the scenes effort made it work as smoothly as possible. Also thanks goes out to the people who assisted, i.e., the security, a true volunteer force!!!! And a final thanks to all the people who showed and truly made it a fun event. BiloxiCouple & Gails Pez dispenser.
Had a *great* time at Bewitched on the Beach. Everyone was very friendly and PeeWee was an excellent host. This was our first social and we know it won't be our last. -Mike and Jen
Club Chameleon, Phoenix, AZ. has requested financial help from
you to do battle against those that are attempting to stifle your
freedom to attend clubs.
The legal battle that Club Chameleon is facing seems to be
the main topic of all the e-mails that we have received at the
clubs website. It also seems to be the main topic of discussion
with most of the people that we have seen at the club. The
postings on the Club Chameleon Yahoo posting board is loaded with
ideas, well wishes, outrage at the city, and promises of help.
This is all very commendable, people coming out of the woodwork
pledging to help in any way that they can. The legal fees are
mounting and the donations that have come in sure won't pay for
much of the court costs.

Hi, this is L last night was my first time to go to a social. You guys made me feel comfortable. I tried to open up but I guess I was too nervous for our first time. Maybe later in the future I will be able to enjoy it more. Thanks again and I had a good time. L
thanks Gail and Peewee for making it possible for
couples to have a special place and club to meet and make new
friends. It takes a special type of person to make the time and
spend the effort to do such a task.We enjoy the dancing and the
enviroment that you two have succesfully created at
Close-Encounters, and wish we could visit there more often , but
the travel is to far for often visits.

we were bored on saturday and new that there was another club
having a function in town so we decided 2 check it out..will not
mention any names but we can say truely say that LA is by far the
best club in the area..this other club fell short in many area
such as: it is very limited in the amount of room it has....it
would have been nice have had a decent music system...they say on
their website site they only want a certain quality type of
people and that their height must be in proportion with their
weight...but when the door persons weight was not in proportion
with their height that should have been r first clue that this
not what the website stated. ..we found out their website was
very misleading and were not impressed at all..we found that the
overall quality of people was of the lower class..kept wondering
where the tacky christmas decorations were cause thats what it
reminded me...at tacky company christmas party...this social is
lacking the professionalism and class that LA Social has and the
quality of people that attend LA Social...
we look forward to continuing to partying at clubs ran by u
guys..keep up the good work...JaM Pcola

Thanks for your wishes of Good Luck, we
find hard work is better but everyone can use all the luck they
can get.
You are right it used to be fun, and according to 108 out of 109
couples it not only still is but gets better and better.
We look forward to seeing you at the next social.
I'm sure that most of you have
heard by now of the raid of Bobby's World last July 29th. It was
certainly the most traumatic thing that I have ever gone through
and probably was equally scary for most of those who were there
at the time. Nearly six months have passed now and after
many hours (and dollars) spent with attorneys we have the
following announcement to share with everyone.
In an order issued and signed on January 16,
2001 by David S. Doty, Judge of the United States District Court
he says;
"It is hereby ordered that pursuant to the foregoing
Stipulated Settlement Agreement, the ...matter is hereby DISMISSED..." Yes, that's right! The entire matter has been dismissed.
We have won. This decision tells us and the rest of the world
that we were doing absolutely nothing wrong. And
that brings us to the important part which is the fact that we
are now actively seeking a new "home" for Bobby's
World. In the meantime, there will be scheduled events posted by
email as well as on the website.
I have to take this
moment to thank each and every one of you for your support
through these, the toughest of times, for us. Almost everyone has
been extremely positive and most definitely supportive of our
efforts. The one thing I keep hearing repeatedly is "When is
the club going to re-open?" Now, I can say with certainty
the answer is "Soon".
Thanks again and
keep watching your email for upcoming events. Myrna
& Bob
We went to our first

Hi Peewee & Gail, GREAT job sat. nite. We had a great time!!! Just a note for the couple who didn't have a great time---------- for some of us it is a time to have fun, fun, fun!!! Dance , swing , party, let go and live a little!!!!!! Deb
Hello Arthur: Thanks for the good time we had Saturday, at the Beach-Resort. R and i enjoyed it. We hope to see you again later in December. S
Hey PeeWee!!! First of all I want to everyone apart of the L.A. Social Club & Close Encounters for making our first experience not only fun but comfortable. My wife and I would like to Thank the Diving Duo for making our night there something special. We cannot wait for the next party in January. Thanks again
Hi.... My husband and I attended our first social this past weekend... and I must say.. it was not what I expected at all. I hate to be negative, but, I thought the adults there would be a little more mature. The women, especially, were very obnoxious. They acted like fools if you ask me. We were looking for mature conversation and all we got were babbling idiots.
Hey PeeWee, Thanks for stopping by our table and chatting with us. We were quite nervous since it was our first time and you made us feel very comfortable. We will try to get to Gulfport between now and the next LA Social. If not, we will see ya'll in January. Thanks againB&C
Hey Pee Wee, had a great time at the party, looking forward tot he next one.... R&R
GREAT social! Kudos to PeeWee, Gail, and Arthur! Y'all made us feel right at home! Special note to PeeWee Arthur... J says she "owes" you two... just too many dance cards last night. She had her first bi experience... we had our first couple experience (soft swing), and she had her third MFM... she is too pooped to peep today... We can't WAIT for our next social... Diving Duo
GREAT JOB>>>PEE WEE , we really enjoyed the social Oct.28. It was a BLAST even though it was a little crowded for a while. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK...we know it is hard work and we THANK YOU! j/v p.s.....see ya Nov.25
Peewee - We had a great time at the October social. With that
said....
The music needs work. At one critical point in the party,
when everyone was charged up & tipsy, the DJ decided to play
7 slow songs in a row then followed with a Rocky Horror Picture
show number. God - that would make anyone feel 60 years old. We
ended up sitting for 30 minutes. There is nothing worse than
being really buzzed with your sexed-up lady and lame music
playing.
If you at are hoping to draw and hold the younger than 40 crowd
to the socials, then I would suggest playing music that better
reflects that demographic. How about some INXS, U2, Frankie goes
to Hollywood, etc. then mix in some new stuff and old with plenty
of techno dance music. Enough "strokin", let's
jam!
last week-end was great!!!
thanksM & D
Arthur, the dance was great, the crowd was
nice, we enjoyed ourselves very much.
It is easy to see that you all work hard to make these socials a
success.
We stayed at the Best Western next door and the accommodation
were great.
I am sure as we attend the functions on a more routine
basis, meeting people and making friends will come more
naturally. Everyone appears so friendly, but as
you have described already in your FAQ's, it just feels a
little awkward right now.
We were especially delighted to see that the average age of the
entire group has remained around 35-40, with some older and
some younger.
Naturally everyone has their own preference when it comes
to music, but most get off with songs that were popular
when they were in their growing years, including the DJ.
The growing years for your average party go'er being 35-40, would
make the hit records of the 1980's just before the fever beat of
disco turned rap. That is where the abilities of the DJ
to sample the age of the crowd and meld the slow
passionate mood music with the fiery "fever" tempo
from the past. Alas, please don't forget Reggae.
I hope you will appreciate our observations, comments and
suggestions in a positive manner.
See you in
November. R
We came to the social in august and it was great,,so we have reservations for the october social,,and we are going to stay 2 nites and drive home monday..don & linda,,,dothan alabama

This was our first social....it was great....we had a wonderful time....the dance was really nice but, the 4th floor hallway was the best....we were looking for a bi-fem for my wife and we found 2....anyway lets us know when the next social is going to be....we will do our best to be there...Bye
Hi, had a good time Sat, glad there is a place for us single gals!! D S
We had a wonderful time, only one problem...Not enough time....LOL R & R
I WAS THERE, WAS A GOOD TIME
We already have our room reserved for next time and had a great
time this month except for temperature at the dance and the lack
of bars. It really needs to be cold in there so that 200+
bodies don't warm it up too much. Couldn't they at least
set up two bars and maybe have a water station positioned
somewhere else with cups, so that anybody who just wanted water
would not have to wait in line.
Anyway, thank you for a good time and see you the 16th.
S and M K Working on it :-)
Great social. See you all Sept. 16th.

Pee Wee I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the success of our
last social . Its like a dream come true. I have been getting
lots of e-mail from my old friends. Most were very happy for us
but a few little grips like where was the food and the AC was not
working enough. We needed more bar people. I assured them we
would have it all together next time. Thanks Arthur
We had a great time at last month's social and are looking forward to September's. Do you know if October's will be a Halloween theme? thanks for a great party b and p No theme is planed for October, we will be having a costume party at the Gulfport Ms club.

Hello guys, Just wanted to let you know that my wife and I enjoyed the social last Saturday night. The only things I did not like was that it was too dark and too hot. Bring the house lights up a little...we couldn't see who we were talking to! See ya in September J and R
Greetings :) We are interested in making reservations for the
gathering on the 16th. please let us know if there are any rooms
left on the closed floor, and if so, how much we need to send
you. We really enjoyed the one on the 26th, but didn't get a
room. We don't want to miss out again :). The location was really
nice, and everything really seemed to go smoothly with a few
exceptions that I thought Pee Wee handled excellently. I only
hope that there is more than one bar this time :0 all
that dancing makes a gal thirsty :) Hope to hear from ya'll soon,
Donna & Bobby ( the gal in the hot silver dress that REALLY
enjoyed the air conditioner vents :0 )
(Post by Pee Wee) All reservations must be
made with the hotel directly 1-800-BEACH-16, be sure and tell
them you are with LA Social.
Hello Pee Wee,
To start off, we very much enjoyed the social this past
Saturday. We think that the new place is really a great
place to have the socials. It really gives a back drop for
a good time, beach front and fun area with good restraunts.
Again keep up the good work,
D & B
enjoyed the social sat nite...was a blast... ..thanks for a wonderful time sat nite..... loved meeting pee wee and auther...
Hi,
Wanted to say that we both had a nice time at the LA Social down
florida way. Met alot of nice people, but because of a bad
sunburn, and a bit of back pain, did not party with
anyone<DEEP SIGH!!!!!>. Maybe next time. To everyone out
there that is reading this take note: The social is a blast, and
has the same "At home" feel as the club, with a great
location. The room rate is AWESOME, and you are only a few steps
from the beaches and gulf! I guess all the swimming, fooling
around in the room, eating at the resurant, fooling around some
more, and visiting just tired us out before the social
started......Gotta learn to not waste energy so early I guess?
Anyways, wanted to encourage all opf you to consider it for next
month, and tell your friends about it too. You will have a ball.
See yall this weekend,
John and Carolynn

The article from the Sun Sentinal is below. WE WON!
Now you can come to the club KNOWING everything is legal, above
board, and allowable. We knew it all along and as you can
see from the article, we did EVERYTHING proper from the
start. This is a Tremendous court victory for
Trapeze and a HUGE victory for the Lifestyle.
Judge throws out lewdness case involving
Broward swingers club
By PAULA McMAHON
Sun-Sentinel
Web-posted: 12:33 a.m. June 15, 2000
A Broward County judge threw out the case against the co-owner of
a local swingers club Wednesday, ruling that prosecutors did not
prove the case against him.
County Judge Robert W. Lee ruled that prosecutors presented no
evidence that Dennis Freeland, 46, operated the Trapeze II for
the purpose of lewdness, assignation or prostitution.
"I think the court reaffirmed the rights of consenting
adults to take part in activities they deem appropriate in
private," Freeland said outside court.
Freeland was one of about 50 people, including teachers and law
enforcement officers, arrested in early 1999 during Broward
Sheriff's Office stings on two clubs, Trapeze II and Athena's
Forum. Members join the private clubs to watch or take part in
consensual group sex or partner swapping.
Most of the people arrested were married or committed couples who
the judge said took part in legal sexual activities with each
other.
The evidence in the case showed that Freeland and his business
partner, Alan Mostow, were above board when they set up the club.
They got a certificate of use from the county, applied to the
Internal Revenue Service for tax-exempt status as a private club,
and allowed code enforcement officers to inspect the building.
Lee said that to sustain the charges, prosecutors would have had
to prove the club owners sat down and decided "we're going
to run a business to offend people."
To prove lewdness, prosecutors would need evidence that someone
present in the club, other than the arresting police officers,
was offended by the activities there.
There was no evidence or testimony that anyone else was offended.
The defense pointed out that only one officer, Detective Steve
Drum, testified he was offended by the sexual activity and that
one other officer, Detective Lisa McElhaney, said she was
embarrassed by it.
Prosecutors are appealing the issue of whether they could file
criminal charges if the only people offended were police officers
who entered the club willingly and disregarded large signs
warning people not to go in if they were offended by nudity or
sexual activity.
Lee also said there was no evidence of prostitution or
assignation, which is making an appointment for prostitution, at
the Trapeze II.
The judge's decision in this case raises questions about whether
the Broward State Attorney's Office should or will prosecute
other people arrested in the stings, said Freeland's attorneys,
Daniel Aaronson and Jamie Benjamin.
About half of the almost 50 cases were either dropped or the
people involved pleaded guilty in exchange for community service.
Cases are pending against Mostow and another 17 or so people
accused of lewdness. Those trials have not yet been scheduled.
"I think it was very courageous of the judge to dismiss the
case before it went to the jury," Aaronson said. "I
hope the State Attorney's Office will now re-evaluate whether
they should continue with these prosecutions."
Prosecutors Catalina Avalos and Kristin Kanner said it was too
soon to say whether the decision will affect the pending cases.
Jurors who heard the prosecution's evidence in the case and would
have had to reach a verdict if the judge had not acquitted
Freeland, said they agreed with Lee's ruling. "They never
proved their case," juror Mark Sachs said.
Another juror, Magdalen O'Meara, said the legal definition of
lewdness convinced her that Freeland and club members were not
breaking the law.
During jury selection, several potential jurors said they thought
the government should not interfere with private, consensual
sexual acts between adults. Other potential jurors said they
could not ignore their own moral or ethical objections to the
activity, regardless of the law. None of the people who expressed
those opinions were put on the jury.
Freeland and Mostow said they hope the judge's ruling will
encourage Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne and State Attorney Mike Satz
to devote the resources of their offices to prosecuting what they
said are "real crimes" that affect people's lives.
"The taxpayers should be absolutely astounded that this is
how their money is being spent," Freeland said. At least 23
police officers took part in the sting on his club, he said, and
prosecutors have spent hours researching and arguing the case in
numerous court hearings and an appeal.
Jenne declined to comment on the case, but sheriff's spokesman
Jim Leljedal rejected suggestions by the defense that the stings
were a publicity stunt or designed to win votes for Jenne.
"Any time you take an action against an adult club like
this, the accusation is made that it's for politics or for
elections, but that isn't fair, because we take action in
election and non-election years," Leljedal said.
Freeland said he was extremely relieved by his acquittal. If he
had been convicted of the three misdemeanors, he would have faced
up to 180 days in jail and $1,500 in fines. But he said there has
been one advantage to the otherwise stressful experience of being
prosecuted.
"Business is up," Freeland said with a grin. "You
know what they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity."
